Has Arsenal finally found Thierry Henry’s replacement in Danny boy?

It might be too early to open the oven and roll out the Xmas chicken, too early to sing the hallelujah song but keeping quite would also not do anyone any good in this case. If the chicken is prime and proper then it should be eaten with delight.
He scored a hat-trick and the press is agog, he was signed for 16 million pounds same amount “super Mario” was signed for by Liverpool, he’s scored a hat-trick already in his first 5 games for Arsenal, as great as Thierry Henry was, it took him four long years to score 3 goals in a game. He’s the third Arsenal player to score a uefa champions league hat-trick, alongside, guess who. Nicklas Bentdner. That’s something if you consider the quality strikers that have played for Arsenal in this competition in the club’s history.
What does he bring to the party that sets him apart? What does he have that the tons of strikers that have played at Arsenal before him, since the legendary Thierry Henry, does not have? Not too many English strikers have played and done well at Arsenal as Arsene Wenger prefers flair to direct play. That is it, “direct play” he comes with a directness that combines the force of an Ian Wrightish style and a semblance of a Thierry Henrysque finishing. Still early days though but the signs are not bad and the game against Chelsea at the bridge could not have come any better and bigger after scoring a hat-trick in the uefa champions league against Galatasaray SK if your rocket must launch into outer space then you must prove that you are not a phony in such a game.
Some strikers are built and designed for the big game days others just score a handful of goals on the not so important games day and move on but greatness is in being able to take all the existing records and confine them to the dust bin of history. Nobody saw Thierry Henry eclipsing Ian Wright’s goal scoring record at Arsenal with such speed and craftsmanship that made goal scoring an act and a delight to the viewing eyes. Some commentators say Robin Van Persie was the heir to the throne but injuries and the lure for titles has put paid to that school of thought. Can Danny Welbeck out score the legendary Thierry Henry and others? Can this Ghanian/British machine turn out the best buy ever in the Wenger era? Is he just a fluke, would the injury curse that has bedevilled the Arsenal team of late deny him the consistency of playing time required?
They say there is no question that time would not be able to answer. Would time answer with a big yes or time would come and go and we would see another one bit the dust like Francis “the fox in the box” Jeffers? We have to stay patient, count the goals and see how it goes. “You should never count your chickens before they hatch” so they say but I say this Danny chick is already hatching goals. Time will determine how many goals would come off his poultry when the clock winds down but one thing is certain, if he can score Arsenal to victory against their greatest tormentor at the bridge come super Sunday, then he would not just climb into the hall of fame level but he’ll be writing his name in the books of legends already.
