Arsenal star Mesut Ozil will be sidelined for 10 to 12 weeks after sustaining an injury to his knee, Sky Sports reports.
Ozil missed training for the Germany national squad before their Euro Qualifiers against Poland and the Republic of Ireland, with the German Football Association now revealing the extent of his injury.
A statement on their website is as follows: “The MRI examination today at National Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt in Munich revealed a partial rupture of the outer band of the left knee joint.
“The treatment is conservative, with six weeks of immobilisation of the knee joint. Mesut Ozil is likely to be (out for) 10 to 12 weeks.”
Manager Arsene Wenger is having a torrid time with injuries, with a growing list that already includes Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud, Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey, and Mathieu Debuchy.
Ozil is now expected to be the second Gunner to miss the rest of the year, with Giroud also out till 2015 with a fractured ankle.
